Episodes 2-11: Following the Journey

A Docu-Follow Competition Series

The joy is in the journey… and this is the heart of our show. We follow along as our finalists are tasked with growing their business as efficiently as possible. In each episode, they will be given specific challenges that will help them learn more about business ownership and grow specific skill sets.

A New Challenge Every Episode

Challenge Examples

Create & Direct a Commercial

The Bizkids will be able to utilize the camera crew who will be following them to make a commercial for their product or concept. With the aid of a mentor, they will learn to storyboard, direct, and oversee the edit. The commercial will then go live and its performance will be measured.

Reward Yourself

Each Bizkid will choose an item of similar value that they’ve really really wanted. Their challenge is to be the first kid to turn enough profit from their business to earn the coveted item. The kids will learn that a reward every now and then can help motivate further hard work.

The Big Check Challenge

Each Bizkid will receive a check for $1,000 in seed money. Their challenge will be deciding the most effective way to turn this capital into even more capital. Strategies could include anything from advertising spend to expanding product offerings or improving overall product quality.

The Launch Party

Launch parties are a great way to build awareness for businesses. The Bizkids will come up with a plan to throw the coolest party possible to help their community discover their brand. Metrics will be measured in attendance and overall social following growth following the event.

It's Important to Fail

The Greatest Lesson to Learn

Aside from teaching kids that they can do anything they put their minds and hearts into, one of the biggest takeaways from this show is that it’s OK to fail.

While documenting the successes of these young Bizkids, there will inevitably be failures along the way. We’ll watch these kids learn that failure is one of the most important steps of growing a business and be inspired by the ways they choose to learn to get back up from their missteps and stumbles, only to be stronger for it.

Episode 12: The Showdown & Grand Prize

Real Money, Real Investors, Real Stakes

Bizkids has various investors and venture capitalists waiting in the wings to support the next great kid-owned business. The final episode in the season will culminate with a real-world analysis of each kid’s successes and failures.

The Bizkids will have a chance to share with these investors what they’ve learned and what the future looks like for their business. The Bizkid who wins the grand prize will receive full support and mentorship moving forward with their budding business.
